Correct score prediction: Sevilla 1-3 Barcelona

Barcelona have been the best team in the Spanish top flight after the first seven rounds with six wins and a draw. They have won three consecutive league matches, while Sevilla are yet to win a home game in La Liga this season (D1, L2).

On top of that, Sevilla have a poor track record against Barcelona, having lost seven consecutive skirmishes between these outfits.

All things considered, Barcelona should manage a fairly comfortable victory.

There are also doubts surrounding the match fitness level of Joan Jordan, who suffered a back injury, and Kike Salas, who is recovering from an abdominal strain.

Former Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez is in line for Sevilla to face the reigning champions on Sunday afternoon. The Chilean played for the Catalan giants between 2011 and 2014, winning many trophies.

Towering striker Robert Lewandowski came off the bench during the midweek Champions League defeat to PSG but is expected to start this weekend.

Ferran Torres could play in a wide position at the expense of Marcus Rashford, while Wojciech Szczesny retains his place between the sticks following the knee injury to first-choice goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Predicted lineup: Szczesny (GK), Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde, Pedri, De Jong, Olmo, Yamal, Torres & Lewandowski.

Last five matches

  • Barcelona 1-2 PSG
  • Barcelona 2-1 Real Sociedad
