Roma have continued the good work they started under Gian Piero Gasperini last season, and after eight league matches, they are considered genuine contenders for the Scudetto.
Roma are one of four sides in Serie A yet to have lost a league match this season, with their only defeat coming against Real Madrid in the Champions League, a game they led by two goals going into the final 10 minutes.
The defeat to Madrid earlier this month hasn't rocked them, with Gasperini's side following that disappointment up with two wins and a draw.
If Roma are to challenge for the Scudetto this season, these are the sort of fixtures they must take care of with minimal fuss, particularly as Inter Milan look better than ever.
Gasperini has a few injury concerns ahead of this one, with Manu Kone, Mile Svilar and Lorenzo Pellegrini all ruled out.
As for Cagliari, this match has come at the worst possible time, as their form has just started to drop off after an excellent start to the season.
After finishing 15th and 14th in the last two seasons, the club are hoping to move away from the relegation conversation this season, and the early signs suggest this will be possible.
Fabio Pisacane's side have won four of their eight Serie A matches this season, but they are going to need to find more ways to score goals if they are to finish inside the top half, as they have scored just six league goals to date.
Pisacane is without Riyad Idrissi, Mattia Felici and Yael Trepy on Tuesday, while Harry Winks is considered a doubt.
