Reims

After an unfortunate defeat in the curtain opener at Stade Velodrome Reims have responded magnificently. They are unbeaten in the last 3 rounds (W2 D1) and have been able to score in every match so far. This is impressive considering that their top scorer from last season Balogun (21 league goals) is no longer in the squad.

Reims rely on much more pace now with the Japanese wingers Ito and Nakamura causing constant havoc down the flanks. Teuma has impressed too and he scored 3 goals in 4 rounds.

Reims have no injury issues and the manager is spoiled for choice right now.

Predicted Lineup:

Diouf (GK), Foket, Agbadou, Abdelhamid, De Smet, Matusiwa, Teuma, Ito, Munetsi, Nakamura & Diakite

Brest

Brest opened their season with back-to-back wins. They went without scoring in the last 2 rounds though and earned just 1 point from those matches. Last time around the Pirates were a bit fortunate to keep a clean sheet when hosting Rennes with this enough for a 0-0 result.

Brest are starting to get a bit anxious as their two main strikers Mounie and Le Douaron are struggling. Neither has scored and the only reliable contributor up front has been Del Castillo.

Young winger Doumbia misses this game suspended but he features very rarely for the first team anyway. Defender Escartin and the useful inner midfielder Pereira Lage are ruled out due to injuries.

Predicted Lineup:

Bizot (GK), Lala, Chardonnet, Brassier, Locko, Camara, Martin, Magnetti, Del Castillo, Mounie & Le Douaron

Player to Watch: Teddy Teuma

Reims signed midfielder Teddy Teuma only this summer from the Belgian side Union St Gilloise. Teuma scored 10 league goals last season in Belgium and he has hit the ground running at Reims too. The 29-year-old loves joining the attacks from midfield and he has the nose for picking out pockets of space.

Teuma scored 3 goals in just the last 2 rounds. He’s constantly benefiting from the sharp crosses that come in from both flanks and we can see him being impactful once again in this match.
