After losing their first two games, Real Sociedad earned their first win of the season over the weekend by defeating Espanyol 2-1.

As the Basque giants gear up for their second home game of the campaign, it is worth mentioning that while they have lost both of their away matches so far, the hosts have won their only home game and will look to keep that 100% record intact.

Alvaro Odriozola remains a long-term absentee for Real Sociedad because of cruciate ligament surgery. Pablo Marin is unavailable due to a muscular issue, while Alex Remiro is questionable due to a shoulder problem.

Additionally, head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo was handed a red card in the win over Espanyol and will watch this game from the stands.

On the other hand, Celta Vigo's struggles continued with a 2-0 home defeat against Athletic Bilbao. The visitors have now lost consecutive fixtures and are on a four-match winless run.

Interestingly, while Celta have lost both of their home games so far, their only point this season came in their only away match (0-0 at Valencia).

Nonetheless, head coach Claudio Giraldez will remain without last season's top scorer Borja Iglesias, who is still recovering from a muscular injury.

Recent clashes between these teams have not been one-sided, as both sides share a 2-1-2 win-draw-loss record in the last five H2Hs.

However, Celta Vigo have just two wins in their last 13 meetings (D3, L8), and have won only one of their last six trips to this stadium.
