Rayo Vallecano preview: Hoping to halt their winless streak

Centre-backs Luiz Felipe and Abdul Mumin will both miss this game due to injuries, while there are doubts surrounding the availability of forward Randy Nteka.

Since the opening week win over Girona, Rayo are yet to pick up maximum points in five La Liga games played, which includes an impressive 1-1 draw against Barcelona on 31 August. They were supposed to build on that result, but have since then not lived up to expectations.

Alemao has had a torrid start to life at Rayo since his arrival from Pachuca this summer, failing to score after three games, and he's expected to drop to the bench this weekend, with Sergi Camello tipped to partner Isi Palazon in the final third while Jorge de Frutos starts in a wide area.

Predicted lineup: Batalla (GK), Chavarria, Vertrouwd, Lejeune, Ratiu, De Frutos, Valentin, Garcia, Diaz, Palazon & Camello.

Last five matches

  • Atletico Madrid 3-2 Rayo Vallecano
  • Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Celta Vigo
  • Osasuna 2-0 Rayo Vallecano
  • Rayo Vallecano 1-1 Barcelona
  • Rayo Vallecano 4-0 Neman Grodno

Sevilla preview: Looking to return to winning ways

Sevilla will be without the injured duo of Alfon Gonzalez and Joan Jordan this weekend, while a final assessment has to be made on the fitness level of Adnan Januzaj and Tanguy Nianzou, with both players reported as doubtful.

Isaac Romero will lead the line for the visitors once again and will have support from Chile cult hero Alexis Sanchez and Ruben Vargas from the two wide areas of the attacking third.

Predicted lineup: Vlachodimos (GK), Salas, Nianzou, Azpilicueta, Suazo, Mendy, Sow, Carmona, Vargas, Sanchez & Romero.

Last five matches

  • Sevilla 1-2 Villarreal
  • Alaves 1-2 Sevilla
  • Sevilla 2-2 Elche
  • Girona 0-2 Sevilla
  • Sevilla 1-2 Getafe

The former Cadiz midfielder has two goal contributions in his last two appearances and will look to extend that run this weekend.
