Rasmus Højlund Transfer Odds: Manchester United (4/11)
The one club which has dominated the talk in more recent times over potentially signing Højlund is Manchester United. The Premier League giants are looking to build upon their much-improved campaign last season under Erik ten Hag, and the one area of the pitch they'd love to strengthen is the striker role. Marcus Rashford is likely to feature down the left side.
Sky Sports understands that Højlund is their number one target at this moment in time, however the two clubs appear well apart in terms of agreeing a fee for the player. Nevertheless, ten Hag has identified who he wants to lead the line for many years to come, and with more improvement expected in the 20-year-old, it is a deal that is expected to go through eventually.
Rasmus Højlund Transfer Odds: Paris Saint-Germain (13/8)
Should the Manchester United switch not materialise then Paris Saint-Germain could be the team to benefit from this. It is well-documented that they are going through a transfer saga of their own in relation to Kylian Mbappé leaving the Ligue 1 side, but they have still been signing players this summer. Højlund could be the next piece in the jigsaw that new manager Luis Enrique believes can take this team to the next level.
Whilst Højlund doesn't have the blistering figures that say an Erling Haaland has produced, many are linking similarities between the two. It could just be a case of Højlund needing a bit more time to mature, and he only made his professional debut in 2020. PSG want to prove themselves as a top European club, and winning this race helps with that.
Rasmus Højlund Transfer Odds: Juventus (14/1)
It does look as though Juventus are looking for a new striker this summer. Sky Sports reports that Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku is someone they are interested in, but only if they can offload Dušan Vlahović beforehand. Højlund is proven in Serie A, but now needs to prove himself at an out-and-out ‘big club', and a switch to Juve could interest him.
Finances could be the problem here however, whilst Højlund himself could find the bright lights of the Premier League too much to resist if Manchester United are serious in their interest. Juventus have not won the Serie A title since 2019-20, which is too long in their eyes, and signing Højlund would be a real statement of intent as to their ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
Rasmus Højlund Transfer Odds: Bayern Munich (20/1)
20/1 for Bayern Munich to sign Højlund could be translated in a few different ways. The clearest of those is you are partly banking on Harry Kane not joining the Bundesliga giants this summer, and whilst Tottenham are digging their heals in to a degree, the player himself wants to make the move. Would there be room for Kane and Højlund? Probably not.
Højlund is significantly younger than Kane, which is one tick in his column, but Kane is proven at the highest level both for club and country. Højlund still has some way to go to reach the level of Kane, but he needs to join a bigger club to give him that platform to reach those standards. This deal looks unlikely, but not impossible if Kane stays at Spurs.
Rasmus Højlund Transfer: Conclusion
In summary, it would appear that Manchester United are in the driving seat in relation to adding the Danish forward to their squad. However, the deal is anything but resolved, and there is still some work to be done. Other clubs could pounce if the Premier League club are unwilling to meet Atalanta's demands. This deal is a case of watch this space.
