Authenticity (2/5): TeamTALK admit this one unlikely
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has informed Marcus Rashford that he can leave Man Utd in January for the right price, with Arsenal's name linked to the Englishman.
This comes from teamtalk.com, who include quotes from Arsenal reporter Charles Watts. He claims that Rashford's name is often linked to the Gunners, but Arsenal are unlikely to be interested at this time.
Value (3.5/5): United prepared to let him go cheap
No exact valuation has been given by the United hierarchy as part of their “cultural reset” at Old Trafford, but they are prepared to let Rashford leave for a low price – which we can expect to be a fair bit lower than his £45.5 million valuation.
Perhaps the cut price will be enough to tempt the Gunners back in?
Suitability (2/5): Can Rashford find his form?
Rashford's goal after two minutes in Ruben Amorim's first match in charge was as good as it got for the 27-year-old under the Portuguese, and was left out of the matchday squad for the derby win at the weekend.
He looks far from the player he was a couple of years ago and would have to rediscover his form at the Emirates, where at least he could play on the left side of a front three.
Upgrade? (1.5/5): Not ready to take left wing spot
He has more Premier League experience than Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, but in terms of form, Rashford looks miles behind Mikel Arteta's two left-wingers, even though they are not the top performers on the red half of North London this season.
Logic (2/5): A clean slate abroad?
The latest from France is that PSG are no longer interested in Rashford, though UK bookmakers have since asserted otherwise.
A sale anywhere would help United from a “pure profit” standpoint, but despite the low price, Arsenal would be better off spending their funds elsewhere.
Whisper+ verdict: 11/25
It's not the right move at this time for Rashford, and Arsenal's interest seems to have sailed. This rumour isn't going anywhere.
