Rangers to win to nil

Rangers' last five victories in all competitions have come without conceding a goal.

Rangers will take on Kilmarnock on Wednesday, 4 February, with the hosts looking to respond following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Hibernian at the weekend.

That result has seen Gers drop back to third in the Scottish Premiership table and they now trail Hearts at the top of the division by six points.

As part of this week's round of Scottish Premiership betting tips, here is our Rangers vs Kilmarnock prediction.

Rangers vs Kilmarnock prediction: An easy night ahead for the hosts

Key Stats

  • Rangers have won five of their last six domestic matches.
  • Kilmarnock have won just one of their last 18 domestic matches.
  • More than two goals have been scored in five of Kilmarnock's last six matches.

Correct score prediction: Rangers 3-0 Kilmarnock

Rangers could not have asked for a better fixture than this for a game that they absolutely must win. While Kilmarnock ended their long winless streak last time out, they remain one of the weakest teams in the Scottish Premiership.

Pre-game odds and win probability: The hosts are big favourites

  • HOME: 3/10 (1.30) – 76.9%
  • DRAW: 17/4 (5.25) – 19%
  • AWAY: 8/1 (9.00) – 12.5%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Rangers vs Kilmarnock odds tell us that this should be a straightforward evening for the home team. Ladbrokes have given Rangers a 76.9% chance of winning the match, while Kilmarnock have been given just a 12.5% of victory.

Rangers preview: Rohl could mix things up

Rangers looked a little toothless at the top of the pitch against Hibernian at the weekend, so Danny Rohl could make some changes in forward areas here, with Mikey Moore in line for a promotion off the bench. In terms of injuries, Derek Cornelius, Connor Barron and Bailey Rice are all unavailable.

Predicted lineup: Butland (GK), Tavernier, Souttar, Fernandez, Meghoma, Raskin, Chukwuani, Moore, Aasgaard, Gassama, Miovski

Last five results

  • Hibernian 0-0 Rangers
  • FC Porto 3-1 Rangers
  • Rangers 3-0 Dundee
  • Rangers 1-0 Ludogorets
  • Rangers 5-0 Annan

Kilmarnock preview: No reason to change

After ending their 17-match winless streak at the weekend, it would be odd if Neil McCann changed the starting XI for the trip to Ibrox. The same four players that were unavailable for that match – Jamie Brandon, Kyle Magennis, Djenairo Daniels and Matthew Kennedy – remain out.

Predicted lineup: Roos (GK), Schjonning-Larsen, Brown, Deas, Thompson, Lyons, Watson, Polworth, Kiltie, Anderson, John-Jules

Last five results

  • Kilmarnock 3-0 Aberdeen
  • Motherwell 4-0 Kilmarnock
  • Kilmarnock 1-2 Dundee
  • Livingston 1-1 Kilmarnock
  • Kilmarnock 1-3 Hibernian

Player to watch: Mikey Moore

Rangers need a spark to reignite their title aspirations, and Mikey Moore could provide them with exactly that. The Tottenham loanee is yet to show the Rangers faithful what he is truly capable of, but with the team now functioning at a higher level than at the beginning of the season, the teenager could be in a better position to shine.
