Rangers to win

Rangers have won their last ten home matches in all competitions.

Rangers will take on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday, 1 March, in what promises to be a huge afternoon in Glasgow.

Regardless of league position, Old Firm clashes are always tantalising affairs, but when there is a league title to be won, things are certainly ramped up a notch or two.

With Hearts set to play Aberdeen on Saturday, both Rangers and Celtic will know exactly what they need to do by the time the match kicks off at Ibrox on Sunday.

As part of this week's round of Scottish Premiership betting tips, check out our Rangers vs Celtic prediction below.

Rangers vs Celtic prediction: Gers to get the job done

Key Stats

  • Rangers have taken 27 points from the last 33 available in the Scottish Premiership.
  • Celtic have lost two of their last three matches in all competitions.
  • More than two goals have been scored in six of the last eight Old Firm derbies.

Correct score prediction: Rangers 2-1 Celtic

Celtic have had a torrid couple of weeks, and Martin O'Neill now sounds like a man who is counting down the days until he doesn't have to do this anymore. Rangers, on the other hand, are full of belief and will be much fresher having had a week off, while Celtic travelled to Germany.

Pre-game odds and win probability: No result is odds-on

  • HOME: 23/20 (2.15) – 46.5%
  • DRAW: 27/10 (3.70) – 27%
  • AWAY: 2/1 (3.00) – 33.3%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Rangers vs Celtic odds indicate that this is a match that could go either way. Ladbrokes have given Rangers a 46.5% chance of winning the match, while Celtic have been given a 33.3% chance of walking away with all three points.

Most recent H2Hs: Don't rule out a draw

It is Rangers who will be happier with the recent H2H record as they have not lost to Celtic (in normal time) in any of their last seven clashes with the Bhoys. One standout feature of recent clashes is that three of the last four have been level after 90 minutes, which makes the draw price of 27/10 rather appealing.

Rangers preview: Sterling to return?

Predicted lineup: Butland (GK), Tavernier, Fernandez, Souttar, Sterling, Chukwuani, Raskin, Olsen, Moore, Gassama, Chermiti

Celtic preview: A big call to make between the sticks

Kasper Schmeichel was dropped/rested on Thursday night for the trip to Stuttgart, but after Viljami Sinisalo put in a superb display in Germany, O'Neill has a huge call to make. Auston Trusty is missing through suspension, while Arne Engels and Callum Osmand are injured.

Predicted lineup: Sinisalo (GK), Araujo, Scales, Murray, Tierney, McGregor, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nygren, Maeda, Cvancara, Yang

Player to watch: Youssef Chermiti

Youssef Chermiti is proving to be a bit of an enigma at Rangers, and although it is impossible to predict what version of the striker you are going to get on any given day, he does seem to enjoy the big occasion, Can he be the hero once again on Sunday?
