Queens Park Rangers have made an encouraging start under Julien Stephan, collecting seven points from their opening three league matches and establishing themselves among the early promotion contenders.

The Rs began with a goalless draw against Bolton Wanderers before recording back-to-back victories over Portsmouth and Blackburn Rovers, although both wins required them to recover from losing positions.

Their latest comeback came at Ewood Park last Saturday, where Paul Smyth and Jimmy Dunne struck in the second half to overturn an early Blackburn lead and maintain QPR's unbeaten league record.

Stephan's side have also impressed defensively, conceding just twice across their opening three matches, with only one team in the division boasting a better defensive record.

Cardiff City have also avoided defeat since returning to the Championship, although they are still waiting for their first victory after drawing all three of their league fixtures.

Brian Barry-Murphy's side were involved in another entertaining contest on Saturday, taking an early lead against Sheffield United through Jack Moylan before falling behind just five minutes later and eventually drawing level through Cian Ashford before half-time.

The Bluebirds have shown plenty of resilience during their return to the second tier, but they will now be looking to turn their promising performances into victories as they travel to West London this week.

Cardiff can take confidence from their recent record against QPR, having avoided defeat in their last three meetings, although they have won just two of their previous 10 visits to Loftus Road.

With Cardiff yet to keep a clean sheet in the league and QPR having conceded in two of their three Championship games, we expect both sides to find the net at Loftus Road.
