Porto will welcome Farense to the Estadio do Dragao on Sunday, 15 September in a match that feels important for the hosts after losing to Sporting Lisbon last time out.
The loss to their title rivals will have stung and the fact it came directly before an international break means that the bitter taste in their mouth has lasted for longer than usual.
Facing the Porto wrath this weekend are Farense, a team that have lost all four of their matches so far this season.
As part of our latest round of Primeira Liga betting tips, here is our Porto vs Farense prediction.

Porto vs Farense prediction: The hosts to bounce back
Key stats
- All three of Porto's league victories this season have come by a margin of two goals or more.
- Farense have lost all four of their league games so far with the last two coming by a margin of two or more goals.
- Porto have kept a clean sheet in three of their four league matches this season.
Correct score prediction: Porto 2-0 Farense
Porto have looked rock solid at home so far this season whereas Farense have looked a mess in every match they've played. They are yet to score a goal on the road this season and given that Porto have kept two clean sheets in two home matches, it is highly unlikely that they will break their duck here. Another comfortable home win is expected.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Porto go in as heavy favourites
- Home: 1/7 (1.14) – 87.5%
- Draw: 8/1 (9.00) – 11.1%
- Away: 14/1 (15.00) – 6.7%
Porto are unsurprisingly the heavy favourites for this won and anything other than a comfortable home win would be a shock. Ladbrokes have priced a Porto win at 1/7 while they have priced a win for Farense at 14/1. The draw, which would be a brilliant result for the visitors, has been priced at 8/1.

Porto preview: Getting over a bump in the road
Porto had started the season very well prior to the loss against Sporting, especially when you consider they lost their star striker to Bournemouth in the final weeks of the window. Several players have stepped up since Evanilson's departure and they will be keen to remind Sporting that they are still up for the fight with a big win on Sunday.

Farense preview: Second season syndrome?
Farense's most recent promotion to the Primeira Liga came in 2023 and their first season back in the top flight went very well, finishing 10th. However, it appears they could be suffering from a severe case of second season syndrome and unless they start picking up points quickly, relegation looms large.

Player to watch: Samu Omorodion
Samu Omorodion was a player who looked set to join Chelsea for the entirety of the summer transfer window but after his move to London collapsed, he had to settle for a transfer to Porto. The former Atletico man has been tasked with filling the boots left behind by Evanilson and he has a huge reputation.
Omorodion spent last season on loan at Alaves in La Liga and netted eight goals in all competitions. He will need to improve on that tally this time around but he has all the credentials to do so.
