Under 2.5 Goals

Our first West Ham vs Nottingham Forest prediction regards the total goals at the final whistle. We're expecting a very tight and tense 90-minutes between two teams that are short on wins of late and will be desperate to avoid defeat. The reverse fixture between these two clubs only produced one goal in the favour of Nottingham Forest and we're predicting another goal-shy afternoon this weekend as well. Each of West Ham's last six matches and each of Forest's last four outings have all ended with under 2.5 goals being scored, so you can see just why we're predicting under 2.5 goals to be produced at the London Stadium.

Both Teams to Score – No

For our second West Ham vs Nottingham Forest prediction we're heading into the BTTS market. Only one team has scored in the last two meetings between West Ham and Nottingham Forest, while both teams have scored in just two of West Ham's last six outings and in one of Forest's last five fixtures, adding plenty of weight to our prediction.

West Ham vs Nottingham Forest Lineups

West Ham

West Ham made the trip to Tottenham last time out and came home empty-handed. The first forty-five ended goalless and West Ham gave a decent account of themselves but in the second half, Emerson broke the deadlock in the 56th-minute and substitute Son wrapped up the points for Spurs with a 72nd-minute effort. Cornet remains sidelined for the hosts this weekend and there are doubts over Zouma and Paueta both of whom will face late fitness tests.

Predicted Lineup: Fabiański (GK), Ogbonna, Coufal, Emerson, Kehrer, Aguerd, Souček, Rice, Downes, Antonio & Bowen

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest wouldn't have been expecting to pick up any points at home to Man City last time out, especially after they fell behind in the 41st-minute to a wonder strike from Silva. Man City created plenty of chances to win the game but Forest kept themselves in the match and eventually equalised through Wood in the 84th-minute to claim a valuable and unexpected point. Boly, McKenna, Awoniyi, Niakhate, Henderson, Biancone, Richards and Kouyate look set to miss out once again through injury and there are also concerns over Aurier, Yates and Lingard, so it's lucky Forest have a massive squad at their disposal.

Predicted Lineup: Navas (GK), Aurier, Felipe, Worrall, Lodi, Colback, Shelvey, Freuler, Gibbs-White, Danilo & Johnson

Player to Watch: Declan Rice

West Ham's 24-yer-old star midfielder might not be at the club much longer as the rumours suggest he will be the subject of possibly multiple huge bids in the summer from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd.

Until then, Moyes needs Rice to be the catalyst in his team, a team that is battling for its survival. Rice doesn't have a lot of goals or assists in him but as a box-to-box midfielder, he is one of the best in the country. Whether it's breaking up play or starting attacks, Rice is key to most things West Ham do positively and with this game being another important one in the bottom half of the table, we're backing Rice to up his game once again.
