Norwich vs Middlesbrough: Our top betting tips
Both of these teams arrive here having seemingly turned a corner from previously poor form. Who will come out on top as they lock horns at Carrow Road? Find out with our Norwich vs Middlesbrough match preview with free tips, predictions and odds mentioned along the way.
Norwich to take the win
Despite sitting at opposite ends of the table this is a tough game to call with Norwich and Middlesbrough having identical records across their respective last five games with both form guides reading as WDWLD. Even so, we're backing the Canaries to come out on top. There are three reasons for this; firstly, they hold home advantage, secondly, Norwich boss the head to head record with six wins and a draw from the last seven meetings and, finally, whilst Middlesbrough played in the week, Norwich didn't. That should give the hosts an extra little bit of freshness in the legs.
Going over 2.5 goals
Our next prediction for this match comes from the total goals market and, despite the head to head history being somewhat on the low scoring side, we think there will be a few goals hence our over 2.5 goals prediction. Norwich have seen three of their last five games go north of the 2.5 cut off with Middlesbrough seeing three of their last four break that threshold. Boro's away record as well is one that really drives this tip home; each of their last four games on the road have gone north of the 2.5 goal marker with a staggering 15 goals spread across those matches. At 19/20 (1.95), the odds are attractive too.
Here are the key stats & form guide for Norwich vs Middlesbrough
Who will continue their recent revival?
Norwich and Middlesbrough are having very different seasons but there have been some similarities in how their campaigns have unfolded as well. Norwich were flying high at the top of the league before a poor run of form saw calls for Dean Smith to be sacked; they are now unbeaten in three games. Middlesbrough meanwhile endured a miserable run of form but they did act on calls to axe their boss. Michael Carrick has since taken charge of the team and they too are unbeaten in three. It's plausible that both remain unbeaten with a draw here but, equally, it's plausible both will be looking to win.
Norwich arrive here with a few injuries on the books; most notable is the absence of Andrew Omobamidele. That noted, the Canaries are back on track after three without defeat so will be keen to get a result here.
Norwich Predicted lineup – Gunn, McCallum, Gibson, Hanley, Aarons, Hayden, McLean, Gibbs, Ramsey, Sargent, Pukki
Middlesbrough put in their best display of the season last time out with fans quick to laud Michael Carrick's influence on the team. With that performance in mind, mass changes to the XI are unlikely.
Middlesbrough Predicted lineup – Steffen, Giles, Lenihan, Fry, Smith, Hackney, Howson, Akpom, Jones, McGree, Forss
