The Middlesbrough vs Norwich odds indicate that a home win is still the most likely outcome here despite Middlesbrough's poor form in recent weeks. In the midst of their current poor spell, Michael Carrick's men did record a win against Leicester City at the Riverside which suggests they do have the ability to turn up when the biggest and best teams come to visit.

Norwich have put together an impressive run of form at the right time of the season which makes their odds of 2/1 to win this match particularly appealing. The Canaries are just a point behind Hull City in sixth place and a win here could lift them above the Tigers as long as other results go their way.

Other free betting tips for this match which look appealing include Norwich to score first at 23/20 (2.15) and Josh Sargent to score anytime at 15/8 (2.88).

Last five H2Hs: Advantage Boro

Based on the last five matches between Middlesbrough and Norwich, the home side will probably be welcoming the Canaries to the Riverside with open arms. Boro have won their last three encounters with Norwich which should give Michael Carrick's a much-needed confidence boost before kick-off. Norwich's last win over Middlesbrough came back in 2020.

Middlesbrough preview: Time to stop the slide

Middlesbrough fans are starting to question whether Michael Carrick is the man for the job with their promotion hopes for this season now well and truly buried. If they aren't careful, they could even enter the relegation battle with a few more defeats. On Wednesday, they are missing seven first team players including Howson and Lenihan.

Player to watch: Gabriel Sara

Gabriel Sara is the glue that holds Norwich together, at least in an attacking sense. Without him, Norwich wouldn't be in the conversation for the playoffs and they'll be hoping for another masterclass from the Brazilian on Wednesday.

Assist king

Sara is far and away Norwich's top assist maker this season with ten in all competitions while he has also chipped in with six goals. It isn't out of the question that he finishes the season in double digits in both columns, a feat that would draw the attention of Premier League clubs.
