Austria vs Norway prediction: The hosts to bridge the gap
Key stats
- It has now been a year since Austria last lost a football match on home soil.
- Norway have failed to win their last three away matches.
- Erling Haaland has scored seven goals in his last five matches for Norway.
Correct score prediction: Austria 2-1 Norway
Austria have been brilliant at home under Ralf Rangnick since the German took over two years ago and will fancy their chances of beating Norway on Sunday. Norway have been improving, though, so it won't be an easy match and when you have Erling Haaland up front, you are always likely to at least get on the scoresheet.

- HOME: 21/20 (2.05) – 48.8%
- DRAW: 5/2 (3.50) – 28.6%

Austria preview: A makeshift defence
Ralf Rangnick is having to experiment with his defence during this international break which will be music to the ears of Erling Haaland. His captain, David Alaba, is still recovering from a long-term injury while Kevin Danso and Max Wober are both unavailable. Mark Arnautovic will be hoping for a start after being on the bench against Kazakhstan.
Predicted lineup: Pentz (GK) – Posch, Svoboda, Lienhart, Prass – Laimer, Seiwald, Sabitzer – Schmid, Baumgartner, Arnautovic

Norway preview: Looking to feed the two big men
Norway's two best players are both at the top end of the pitch but there is nothing that Alexander Sorloth and Erling Haaland can do if the players behind them don't supply them with opportunities. The loss of Martin Odegaard is a huge blow when it comes to chance creation while Oscar Bobb is also missing after seriously injuring his leg in pre-season.
Predicted lineup: Nyland (GK) – Ajer, Ostigard, Hanche-Olsen, Wolfe – Pedersen, Berge, Thorsby, Nusa – Haaland, Sorloth

Player to watch: Alexander Sorloth
While much of the attention whenever Norway play is on Erling Haaland, his strike partner also happens to be one of the best strikers in Europe. Sorloth got a big money move to Atletico Madrid in the summer and while he is yet to show his best form under Diego Simeone, he does usually perform at a high level for his country.
