Switzerland come into this UEFA Nations League campaign with a point to prove and a chip on their shoulder after what they feel was an unjust exit from the World Cup.
After reaching the quarter-finals, Switzerland were defeated in extra time by Argentina, but a controversial red card handed out to Breel Embolo earlier in proceedings overshadowed the victory.
Although the Swiss cannot win the Nations League this time around, courtesy of their status as a League B side, they can enjoy a strong campaign, which could help towards Euro 2028 qualification.
For the match against North Macedonia, manager Murat Yakin will be without his captain Granit Xhaka and the aforementioned Embolo, who is now serving a suspension as a result of that red card.
As for North Macedonia, expectations are on the floor amid a desperate run of form that has seen them fail to win any of their last eight matches.
