🔥 Our Hot tip

BTTS - Yes

Five of Nice’s last six league matches saw both teams score. Four of Metz’s last five have also followed the same pattern.

What seems like a dead rubber between two of the bottom-three teams, is in fact Nice’s most important match of the league season so far. Metz are already relegated and have nothing but pride to play for.

Metz were always the favourites to return to the second division, but Nice have the chance to secure survival provided they win or draw and Auxerre drop points.

Nice saw their five-match unbeaten run across all competitions come to an end, as Auxerre emerged victorious in a relegation six-pointer. Tied on 31 points, AJA are safe solely due to their superior goal difference.

Claude Puel has work to do, with two crucial fixtures to play. This final league clash is followed by a season-defining Coupe de France final against Ligue 1 runners-up Lens.

The Eagles couldn’t have asked for a better final day fixture, with Metz the worst performing side this season.

Moise Bombito, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Melvin Bard an Everton Pereira are Nice’s absentees.

Benoit Tavenot has two absentees at Metz to account for: Joseph Mangondo and Nathan Mbala.

Metz have been absolutely shambolic this season, now winless in 21 straight league games. Lorient were the latest team to beat them, a 4-0 result at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

They have also conceded 76 goals this league term, more than any other side across Europe’s top-five leagues.

One of their only three league wins this season was a 2-1 triumph at home in the reverse fixture. They will look to take inspiration from that result and finish the season avoiding a defeat.

Whispers Predicts: Nice 3-1 Metz

In their 33 games respectively, 14 have featured over 3.5 total goals. Four of Metz’s last five have crossed the mark, while none of Nice’s last five matches have done so. However, with all and nothing to play for, both teams should go at each other with aplomb. Over 3.5 total goals at 11/8 offers value.

Both teams to score – Yes at 17/20 carries value as well. Five of Nice’s last six league matches saw both teams score. Four of Metz’s last five have also followed the same pattern.

Nice matches have produced a league-high average of 10.7 corners per game this campaign. Backing Over 10.5 total corners at 11/10 is worthy of consideration.

A First-half win for Nice at 31/40 offers modest returns as well. With the backing of the home crowd, the Eagles should be able to make a strong start to the same, taking the lead at the break.
