Nice vs Marseille lineups and latest team news

Nice

Nice sit only a point off the top spot after a series of impressive results. Despite having to wait until round 4 for their first win of the season the Eagles beat recently both Monaco and PSG to establish themselves as serious title contenders.

Nice’s ability to switch pace in their matches makes them a dangerous team and in the Nigerian Moffi, they have a lethal weapon inside the box these days.

Nice will be missing their starting playmaker Thuram in this match. He is serving a ban. Also, due to disciplinary actions wing-back Atal is not going to play. Mendy and Diop remain in rehabilitation but they have been out all season so Nice are used to playing without them.

Predicted Lineup – Bulka (GK), Lotomba, Todibo, Dante, Bard, Sanson, Ndayishimiye, Boudaoui, Laborde, Moffi & Boga

Marseille

Marseille already changed managers after a slow start to the new campaign. Gennaro Gattuso is still settling into the job and even his arrival hasn’t changed the team’s fortunes on the road. Marseille are without an away win since April D4 L6.

The confidence will be back as in the last round Marseille stopped a 6-game winless run with a sounding 3-0 home success over Le Havre. The other positive from this match was that star striker Aubameyang finally scored his first goal for the club it.

Starting centre-back Gigot is considered touch-and-go. He is important and if there is a chance for him to play he will. The only long-term absentee is midfielder Veretout. Another midfielder Gueye is serving a doping ban.

Predicted Lineup – Lopez (GK), Clauss, Mbemba, Gigot, Lodi, Ounahi, Rongier, Harit, Ndiaye, Aubameyang & Sarr

Player to Watch: Ismaila Sarr

Marseille's wide man Ismaila Sarr has been sensational when fit. In just 6 league appearances the Senegalese accumulated 3 goals and 3 assists.

Sarr is over his injury now and with him on the pitch, Marseille are just much more effective and for this to continue Sarr will have to be impactful again.
