Home (First half win)

Napoli have won the first half in two of their last five meetings.

The historic Stadio Diego Armando Maradona will host Saturday’s clash between Napoli and Genoa in the Serie A. The Parthenopeans go into this clash losing 2-1 at the San Siro to AC Milan and losing their top spot on the table. However, they recovered from their loss, with a 2-1 victory over Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile, Genoa has experienced a poor start to the season with one win, two draws and two losses in their last five league outings. The visiting side lost 3-0 at home to Lazio last weekend and are currently lying in the relegation zone.

Napoli vs Genoa prediction: Home team to win the game

Key statistics

  • Napoli have led at half-time in two of their last five meetings.
  • The host have won four of their last five Serie A games.
  • Four of their last five meetings have ended in a BTTS result.

Correct score prediction: Napoli 3-1 Genoa

Based on the attacking quality and the recent form of the home side, we predict a 3-1 victory for Napoli. The host have consistently found a way to win at home and has scored at least two goals in four of the last six meetings with Genoa. Another advantage for Napoli is their current form and the hunt to defend their title. They have only lost once in the league this season, which was last weekend and will be looking to get back on their feet.

Most recent head-to-head: A history of dominance

In their last six meetings, Antonio Conte’s side have shown clear superiority over Patrick Vieira’s team, winning three times and drawing three times. Genoa have not managed a victory in this run, with the most recent league encounter in April 2025 ending in a 2-0 win for Napoli.

Napoli preview: Injury troubles for the host

Conte’s team is struggling with injuries to some key players for this match. Goalkeeper Nikita Contini is sidelined with a broken hand and is expected to return in late October. Alessandro Buongiorno and Amir Rrahmani are both out with muscle and hamstring injuries, respectively, with similar return dates in late October.

Romelu Lukaku is unavailable due to a thigh injury, with his recovery expected by early November. These absences weaken Napoli in both defence and attack, reducing their depth across key areas.

Predicted lineup: Milinkovic-Savic (GK), Gutierrez, Beukema, Spinazzola, Jesus, Lobotka, Anguissa, McTominay, De Bruyne, Politano & Hojlund

Last five fixtures

  • 01.10.25 – Napoli 2 – 1 Sporting CP
  • 28.09.25 – AC Milan 2 – 1 Napoli
  • 22.09.25 – Napoli 3 – 2 Pisa
  • 18.09.25 – Manchester City 2 – 0 Napoli
  • 13.09.25 – Fiorentina 1 – 3 Napoli

Genoa preview: Many players injured in the team

Genoa’s injury concerns persist ahead of their upcoming fixtures. Junior Messias is ruled out with a muscle injury and is only expected back by October. Midfielder Jean Onana is also sidelined due to a muscle problem, with a similar return timeline.

Nicolae Stanciu is a doubt as he struggles with a thigh injury, leaving his availability uncertain. These setbacks limit Monza’s midfield options and could impact their balance in both creativity and control.

Predicted lineup: Leali (GK), Martin, Ostigard, Vasquez, Norton-Cuffy, Masini, Ellertsson, Frendrup, Malinovskyi, Colombo & Vitinha

Last five fixtures

  • 29.09.25 – Genoa 0 – 3 Lazio
  • 25.09.25 – Genoa 3 – 1 Empoli
  • 20.09.25 – Bologna 2 – 1 Genoa
  • 15.09.25 – Como 1 – 1 Genoa

Kevin De Bruyne has shown good form since joining Napoli this summer. The Belgian playmaker has been the primary creative force for the home team in recent matches, having registered five goals and provided one assist in his last five appearances across all competitions. His exceptional passing range and ability to score will be crucial for the home side's attempts to secure a commanding victory.
