Nantes to win

Despite losing each of the most recent two, Nantes have won seven of their last 10 home league matches against Brest.

Increasingly staring down the barrel of relegation from Ligue 1, Nantes welcome Brest to Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday in a meeting between two sides who could really do with a victory.

A goalless draw in October's encounter extended the visitors' unbeaten streak in this fixture to seven matches, and this weekend's clash is as good a time as any for the hosts to turn the tide.

In addition to our Nantes vs Brest prediction below, check out the rest of today's betting tips.

Nantes vs Brest key stats

  • Brest have been beaten in their last three clashes by a combined score of 9-3.
  • Like their opponents, Nantes are also on a bad run heading into Sunday, having failed to win any of their last five matches since a 2-0 triumph over Le Havre.
  • During that span, the hosts have failed to score on four occasions, including both of their most recent two outings.

Saturday's goalless stalemate against Auxerre ensured Nantes avoided defeat in consecutive league games for the first time in 2026, but claiming just a point was far from ideal for a side with only one win in their last 11 outings.

A victory would have allowed Vahid Halilhodzic's men to reduce the deficit to the relegation play-off spot to just two points heading into the final six matches of what has undoubtedly been an underwhelming campaign.

Last season, La Maison Jaune achieved their best points tally in the top flight since 2010-11 (42), and a relegation battle is not something fans would have expected this time around.

With time running out, Nantes cannot afford any slip-ups against teams around them in the table, especially with fixtures against Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille still to come.

Aside from Tylel Tati, who remains suspended following his red card against Metz, Sunday's hosts have a full squad available as they look to address poor home form, having collected just eight points from a possible 42.

After ending January with back-to-back defeats, Brest emerged as one of Ligue 1's form sides between early February and March, embarking on an impressive six-game unbeaten run with four wins—all without conceding a goal.

This upturn in form propelled Eric Roy's side to sixth in the standings, just five points off European qualification, with a game in hand and momentum firmly behind them.

However, three consecutive defeats to Monaco, Auxerre, and most recently Stade Rennais have ended Les Pirates' continental ambitions, leaving a top-half finish as the most realistic target.

Sunday's visitors have struggled on the road since mid-December, managing just one win from their last eight away games in all competitions—and that came against bottom club Metz.

Whispers predicts: Nantes 2-1 Brest

Nantes are winless in their last seven meetings with Brest and have undoubtedly been second best in this fixture of late. However, with the weight of expectation and pressure on their shoulders this weekend, the hosts may just edge a narrow victory at 2.35.

Both Nantes (3.1) and Brest (4.1) rank among the bottom five clubs in Ligue 1 for corners per game this season, making under 9.5 corners at 1.80 an appealing selection.

Ludovic Ajorque has netted five times in his last seven appearances, and with the forward priced at 3.10 to score anytime, backing him to add to his tally could prove rewarding.

📈 Whispers' Tips

> 1x2 - Nantes to win at 2.35 | Likelihood: Probable

> Corners Over/Under - Under 9.5 at 1.80 | Likelihood: Probable

> Anytime Goalscorer - Ludovic Ajorque at 3.10 | Likelihood: Probable
