The importance of last weekend's victory over Rangers cannot be overstated from a Hearts perspective. Not only did it remove Gers from the title picture, but it also means Hearts have guaranteed themselves a final-day-of-the-season title decider, at the absolute worst.

The Jambos will be keen to try and get this thing wrapped up before they visit Celtic Park on the final weekend, though, and this weekend could be their chance to make history.

Derek McInnes knows that if his side defeats Motherwell on Saturday, then the pressure will be ramped up on Celtic ahead of their match with Rangers on Sunday. Any slip-up from Celtic would give Hearts the chance to win the title on Wednesday night at home to Falkirk.

📈 Whispers' Tips
Hearts are unbeaten in six league meetings with Motherwell

What has been so impressive about McInnes's side in recent weeks is how they have improved and risen to the challenge since the league split, when so many expected them to wilt.

McInnes will almost certainly go into this unchanged, with Craig Gordon, Oisin McEntee, Tomas Magnusson, Calem Nieuwenhof, Ageu, Finlay Pollock, Cameron Devlin and Harry Milne all still injured.

As for Motherwell, they need just four points from their final three matches to guarantee fourth position and a place in Europa Conference League qualifying next season.

📈 Whispers' Tips
Motherwell have not won at home since February.

It's easy to forget they were also in the title picture just a few months ago, and if it wasn't for Hearts, then their successes this season would certainly be more of a talking point.

Jens Berthel Askou's men have started to tail off in recent weeks, though, with fatigue perhaps playing a part. They have won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions, but that was against Rangers, so they can still turn it on for the biggest matches.

Askou will be without Zach Robinson on Saturday, but everyone else in the squad is fit and available.
