Celtic to win

Celtic have won four of their last five away league matches.

Motherwell will take on Celtic on Wednesday, 13 May, as the Scottish Premiership enters its final week.

The visitors must avoid defeat on Wednesday to guarantee a final day of the season title decider with Hearts. A defeat would give the league leaders a chance to wrap up the title at home to Falkirk.

It's been a miserable month or so for Motherwell, who have seemingly hit a brick wall at the most crucial part of the season. Just one win from their last eight matches has seen all hopes of Champions League qualification evaporate.

Prior to last weekend's fixtures, the Steelmen were regarded as kingmakers due to the fact that they had back-to-back home clashes with Hearts and Celtic. After drawing with Hearts, they can now hand the Jambos the title by defeating Celtic at Fir Park.

As far as their own aspirations, fourth place and a guaranteed crack at the Europa Conference League are still not secured. Four points separate them and Hibernian, and with the two sides set to meet on the final day of the season, they could do with getting something here.

Manager Jens Berthel Askou will be pleased with how his side battled against Hearts at the weekend, so an unchanged XI could be selected. Zach Robinson is their only confirmed absentee due to injury.

As for Celtic, they will be desperate to just go into the match with Hearts on Saturday knowing that all they need to do to win the title is beat them at Celtic Park.

Only a win would guarantee that scenario, as a draw would bring goal difference back into the equation, provided Hearts beat Falkirk at home as expected.

Martin O'Neill's fairytale season is still very much in play. If Celtic can win their final three games of his tenure, then the 74-year-old will walk away from Glasgow with another league and cup double. He will also feel robbed of a treble, considering he was initially denied the opportunity to lead Celtic out for the League Cup final earlier in the season.

O'Neill's side have found top gear at the perfect moment, and there is a sense of inevitability about what is going to happen in Scotland this week, despite Hearts leading the way for the vast majority of the campaign.

On Wednesday night, Celtic have no fresh injury concerns, but  Tomas Cvancara, Colby Donovan, Julian Araujo, Kasper Schmeichel, Callum Osmand, Adam Montgomery, Cameron Carter-Vickers remain in the treatment room.
