Moreirense will take on Porto on Saturday, 21 September in a big match for both clubs as the Primeira Liga nears its halfway point.
The hosts are currently performing well in the league and are pushing for a European position after missing out by just one position last season.
Porto, meanwhile, are now just two points behind Sporting Lisbon in the title race. A win here could see them move to the top of the table for Christmas.
As part of this weekend's Primeira Liga betting tips, here is our Moreirense vs Porto prediction.

Moreirense vs Porto prediction: The hosts to deny Porto
Key stats
- Moreirense are unbeaten at home in all competitions this season.
- Porto have failed to win any of their last five away matches in all competitions.
- Both teams have scored in four of Moreirenses's last five matches.
Correct score prediction: Moreirense 1-1 Porto
This is a really tricky fixture for Porto and their recent away form means it's impossible to justify backing them to win the match. They were deservedly beaten on their last trip to Moreira de Conegos and a similar result could easily happen again on Saturday.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Porto go in as favourites
- HOME: 11/2 (6.50) – 15.4%
- DRAW: 16/5 (4.20) – 23.8%
- AWAY: 1/2 (1.50) – 66.7%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
The Moreirense vs Porto odds are weighted towards the visitors which is an indication that the bookies are massively underestimating Moreiresne and their formidable home record. Ladbrokes have given the home team just a 15.4% chance of winning the match on Saturday night while Porto have been given a 66.7% chance of taking all three points.

Most recent H2Hs: Repeat or revenge?
These two teams have already faced each other twice this season after drawing each other in both of Portugal's cup competitions. In the most recent clash, Moreirense ran out as 2-1 winners at home and they will feel that they can repeat that performance and result this time around.
Porto will be out for revenge against a team they had beaten on five consecutive occasions prior to that defeat.

Moreirense preview: Here to stay
After being promoted in 2023, Moreirense took the Primeira Liga by storm last season finishing in sixth position. Many pundits predicted that they would crash a little this season and suffer from second-season syndrome but that has been far from the case. Their performance this season have been excellent, particularly at home, and could record another scalp on Saturday.

Porto preview: A chance to go top
With Sporting Lisbon not playing until Sunday night, Porto have a chance to move to the top of the Primeira Liga table for the first time this season on Saturday and to put extra pressure on the crumbling Lions. Vitor Bruno could do with a big away win too to silence his ever-growing list of doubters and critics.
Predicted lineup: Costa (GK), Fernandes, Perez, Otavio, Galeno, Eustaquio, Nico, Pepe, Namaso, Vieira, Samu

Player to watch: Danny Namaso

Injuries and dips in form have allowed Danny Namaso to come into the Porto starting XI in recent weeks and the Englishman has performed well scoring, scoring one of his side's two goals in the win over Midtjylland in the Europa League. The 24-year-old will now want to keep hold of his position with both hands so the pressure is on to perform on Saturday.
