After parting ways with Sebastien Pocognoli, Monaco’s decision to appoint Filipe Luis raised some eyebrows and understandably so, as the 41-year-old, despite an impressive spell with Flamengo, was set for only his first taste of European management at the Principality.

Luis wasted no time winning over the Monaco faithful, beginning his tenure with five straight wins – including a 2-1 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain – and eight matches without defeat, most recently claiming a 2-0 friendly win over Pisa.

Before that, Les Monegasques edged Lens 2-1 at home to climb to the top of the table, two points clear of Olympique Lyon and Paris FC.

Monaco have not lifted the Ligue 1 title since their memorable 2016-17 campaign under Leonardo Jardim, but the early signs suggest a title challenge is on the cards this term, especially with PSG yet to hit top gear.

Having won all four home matches so far, Saturday’s hosts have been scintillating in front of their fans, who will be eager to see the team maintain momentum with European commitments on the horizon, as Monaco travel to Bulgaria for their Conference League opener against CSKA Sofia on Thursday.

Following four unsuccessful bites at the cherry, Toulouse finally picked up their first win of the season by defeating Le Havre in a five-goal thriller on September 19, with Thomas Jorgensen’s strike proving to be the decisive moment.

That victory provided a much-needed boost for Jens Askou, whose transition to French football has been far from smooth since leaving Motherwell to succeed Carles Martinez in June.

Saturday’s trip to the home of the division leaders, where Toulouse have lost on each of their last two visits without scoring, is far from ideal for a side still searching for confidence.

However, Les Violets are unbeaten on the road this season, although both of their away matches have ended in draws.

With consecutive games against newly promoted sides to follow, Toulouse are entering a pivotal stretch of their season, and it is imperative they rise to the occasion.

Monaco head into Saturday’s clash in fine form, and we expect them to continue their momentum by recording a routine victory at 3/5 (1.60).

Toulouse have scored in each of their last eight competitive away matches, so backing BTTS – Yes at 3/5 (1.60) has huge appeal.

Only one of Monaco’s last five matches and two of Toulouse’s last 11 have produced 11 or more corners, making under 11 corners at 31/50 (1.62) an enticing option.
