It’s Matchday 32 in the MLS world and there are a couple of late-night matchups on this midweek slate that should be electric. Those matchups are St. Louis City SC taking on LAFC and Sporting KC faces off against Nashville SC. Both of these matchups have playoff previews written all over it so let’s check them out and see which way to go.
St. Louis City SC vs. LAFC: Battle for the West
The game of the week in Major League Soccer is at CityPark as the Western Conference’s top two teams lock horns and LAFC looks a good bet to beat St. Louis City. The Californian club has much more experience in this kind of high-pressure match and can see off a St. Louis team on a 3-game winless run. St Louis have essentially secured their playoff berth which may explain a drop in form lately, but we believe they will be a stern test for the visiting LAFC on Wednesday night.
It is often difficult to replicate the energy levels after such an emotionally draining victory against your rivals, although I feel that Cherundolo's men will be good enough for a point in this one.
LAFC’s current struggle will probably show through here so for that reason I am all over St. Louis City SC DNB. While LAFC has the better xG, I think we can still count on St. Louis to perform in front of their home crowd.

Sporting Kansas City vs Nashville SC: A Midwestern Showdown
Sporting Kansas City are in good form at the moment, even though they are far from a perfect team. And there is a strong trust that this team can grab another win in this game after beating Minnesota United in their last match. Their last five league games ended in three wins and two defeats. They won games against San Jose Earthquakes, St. Louis City and Minnesota United. Then they lost against bums like Austin FC and then bums, Inter Miami CF.
The match against Minnesota United looked like it was heading for a draw at full time, until Gadi Kinda scored the only goal in the 84th minute to put Sporting Kansas City ahead and ultimately gave them the win at full time.
Nashville has struggled mightly on the road. So I’m banking on KC to perform in front of their home crowd.
