Marseille opened their campaign with a brilliant 4-0 win over Strasbourg, but they have only slumped since then.
Five defeats have followed, with only their recent 2-0 win over Troyes allowing them to breathe freely. One of those five defeats was their Europa League opener against Besiktas, who triumphed 4-1.
Bruno Genesio’s side will be determined to keep their momentum going following their Ligue 1 win, but their home form has been far from impressive – losing back-to-back games.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Derek Cornelius are two confirmed absentees for the hosts, while the visitors also have two players sidelined: Ayoub El Kaabi and Yusuf Yazici.
In stark contrast to Marseille, Olympiacos have enjoyed a successful start to the 2026/27 campaign.
Their only Greek Super League defeat this season in nine games came four matches ago to OFI Crete.
Since then, they have tasted three successive victories, first beating Jagiellonia 2-1 in the Europa League, before consecutive win over Levadiakos and Panathinaikos in their domestic league.

Whispers predicts: Marseille 1-1 Olympiacos
Considering Olympiacos’s current form and Marseille’s inability to squeeze results at home, a double chance in favour of the visitors i.e. Olympiacos to win or draw at 4/6 (1.67) offers decent returns.
BTTS – Yes at 8/13 (1.61) carries similar value, with both their respective Europa League outings this season seeing both sides score.
Under 2.5 total goals at 23/20 (2.15) is worth the consideration. Three of Olympiacos’ last four games and two of Marseille’s last four have stayed under the mark.
Backing Olympiacos’ forward Jota Silva as anytime goalscorer at 7/2 (4.50) offers significant value, with the Portuguese their top scorer with two goals in the Greek Super League. He could very well make the difference at the Velodrome.
