The Under-17 World Cup is the ideal opportunity for European heavyweights to spot new gems, just before the winter transfer window opens. Manchester United are impressed by two young players.

Whilst European clubs are preparing to strengthen during the transfer window, the Under-17 World Cup is raging in Qatar. Beaten by Brazil on Friday in the quarter-finals (2-1), Morocco once again demonstrated that the country possesses an exceptional talent pool, a few weeks after the Under-20s' success at the World Cup. One of the standout players in this team is Ziyad Baha, who scored against the Selecao during the Atlas Cubs' elimination.

Site United in Focus revealed Manchester United's interest in the 16-year-old young striker, who has scored four goals in this Under-17 World Cup. Graeme Bailey, transfer specialist, indicates that scouts were impressed by the Real Betis player's qualities. The Red Devils are also following another young talent from the competition, Brazilian striker Dell.

Ziyad Baha, Dell, Manchester United searching for their next gem

“Ziyad Baha, the 16-year-old Real Betis youngster, particularly impressed Manchester United in Qatar. He was exceptional and, from what I've been told, he really attracted attention during the tournament. Manchester United were in Qatar to attend all the quarter-finals. They had a particular interest in the Morocco-Brazil match and, precisely, in the two scorers.”

It is still too early to know whether Manchester United will make an offer for either striker but the English club seem determined to unearth an Under-17 talent. Ziyad Baha will continue his progression in Spain but Manchester United will certainly continue to monitor his performances with the objective of finding their next gem, in the same way as Chelsea with Estevao.
