Manchester United and Manchester City frequently engage in duels in the Premier League but also in the transfer market. The Red Devils want to get ahead of the Citizens for the player who is presented as the “Brazilian Haaland”.

During this international break period, clubs will be able to focus on the winter transfer window, which will arrive in less than two months. It is also an opportunity to look at the Under-17 World Cup, which is currently taking place in Qatar and which could well harbour future football gems. Moreover, one of them is already courted by Europe's heavyweights.

Wendeson Wanderley Santos de Melo, known as Dell, has already scored three goals in the competition. Nicknamed the “Brazilian Haaland” due to his playing style and build, he has been linked in recent months to Manchester City. But, according to information from journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester United have sent scouts to Qatar to closely follow the performances of the 17-year-old striker. The Red Devils want to make a big move in this case.

Manchester derby for €99m Dell

Dell made his professional debut last February with club Bahia and for the moment, he plays with the Under-20 team. However, his talent is already unanimous in Brazil. His release clause is set at €99m (£85m). Manchester United will certainly want to get ahead of their rival but the task looks very complicated.

Indeed, Bahia are 90 percent owned by the City Football Group, which also owns Manchester City. Thus, the Sky Blues will have priority in this case, unless Manchester United propose an offer impossible to refuse. Dell has already expressed his desire to join the sky blue Manchester club. He is still under contract until December 2027, the date by which he could join Pep Guardiola's squad.
