Manchester United and PSG could complete a major player swap during the next summer transfer window, seeing the capital club welcome Marcus Rashford.

This is the big transfer news of the day. According to Football Insider, Marcus Rashford could be the subject of a swap next summer between Manchester United and PSG, if FC Barcelona do not trigger their purchase option, which is estimated between €30m and €35m (£25.6m and £29.9m). Indeed, the capital club would reportedly have recently shown interest in signing the English winger.

Caught Offside notably mentioned a potential €50m (£43m) offer from the European champions for the current Barca player. It must be said that his profile could perfectly fit into the French side's attacking rotation. Aged 28, he is still young and can play in all attacking positions.

A Marcus Rashford-Bradley Barcola swap?

Thus, according to Keith Wyness, former chief executive of Everton and Aston Villa, PSG could send Bradley Barcola to Manchester United to acquire Marcus Rashford. “Well, the interesting news and development in this story is that PSG are claiming they want to get involved, and there could be some sort of player swap deal with Bradley Barcola, which seems logical to me for United,” he revealed.

One can thus imagine that PSG would request Rashford plus a fee in exchange for Barcola from Manchester United. Indeed, the 28-year-old Englishman is valued at €40m (£34.5m) by Transfermarkt, whilst the 23-year-old Frenchman is estimated at €70m (£60m). The additional fee could thus be the valuation difference between the two forwards, namely €30m (£25.5m).

However, the English source seems to focus only on Rashford's and the Red Devils' side. Inevitably, this deal is advantageous for these two parties, but is it for PSG? Whilst Paris would appreciate the England international, who has an interesting profile, it seems difficult to imagine the capital club letting go of Bradley Barcola.

PSG seem to be counting on Bradley Barcola

The former Lyon player is not in great form at the start of this season. However, he is the only Paris forward not yet to have been injured, after the Champions League triumph. Barcola is not at 100 percent physically, but is nevertheless stringing together matches for club and country.

PSG seem to be completely counting on the young French winger for the present and future. Whilst Liverpool and Bayern Munich tried to recruit him during the last transfer window, Barcola stayed and is notably part of the contract extension operation undertaken by Luis Campos with Fabian Ruiz and also Ousmane Dembele.
