The transfer saga surrounding Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho may finally be nearing its conclusion. The club is still negotiating with Chelsea over his move. The 21-year-old Argentine winger was recently added to United’s “blacklist” alongside players such as Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia, suggesting his footballing future lies elsewhere.

Move to Chelsea expected to go through
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the youngster is very optimistic about joining Enzo Maresca’s side. Romano even stated on his YouTube channel: “Chelsea expect the Garnacho transfer to happen. I think this week we’ll have Here We Go.” (This is Romano’s usual phrase when a transfer is practically done.) The player reportedly feels confident the move will go ahead.
Garnacho has already rejected offers this summer from clubs in Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany and other Premier League sides, as he prefers a move to Chelsea.

Young academy players also mentioned
Romano also revealed that during discussions between the two clubs, the name of Chelsea academy forward Tyrique George came up. He said: “I can reveal a behind-the-scenes story from these talks, but as I was told, this option was stopped a few weeks ago.” George is currently not part of the transfer talks, but AS Roma have reportedly shown interest after his breakthrough season, in which he scored three goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances.
British transfer expert Ben Jacobs, speaking to The United Stand, added that Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos — who spent last season on loan at Strasbourg — was also mentioned during negotiations between United and Chelsea. “He was discussed, but I don’t think it will go anywhere because Chelsea do not want to sell him,” Jacobs said. “He’s another player United value, but at this stage it’s nothing more than just interest.”
Chelsea offer and United’s asking price
Chelsea have reportedly offered a fee close to £30 million for Garnacho, well below the £50 million United are asking. It remains to be seen whether the clubs can agree on a deal and Garnacho becomes Chelsea’s new signing, or whether the saga will continue.
