Manchester United directors have warned suitors of Portuguese attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes, liable to leave the Red Devils at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Loyal to Manchester United since his arrival in winter 2020 for the sum of £55m, Bruno Fernandes (31 years old) remains a mainstay of the eleven. Holder of the captain's armband, the Portuguese attacking midfielder has been started by Ruben Amorim in the first 7 Premier League matchdays, for 2 goals against Burnley (3-2) and Chelsea (2-1). If the Portuguese coach values his compatriot, Manchester United could be tempted by a departure of the former Sporting Portugal player in the coming months.

Targeted last summer by Saudi Arabia, Bruno Fernandes remains on the Saudi Pro League's radar. A championship that has a solid financial windfall from which several clubs will not hesitate to put forward a substantial amount to secure the services of the Portugal international, under contract until June 2027 (plus 1 year optional). But what sum will be necessary to recruit Bruno Fernandes? Journalist Ben Jacobs reveals Manchester United's intentions.

Manchester United asking £60m for Bruno Fernandes

The English directors will be willing to part with Bruno Fernandes on condition of recovering at least £60m. Manchester United would therefore not intend to be too greedy with the Maia native, whose current market value is estimated at £43m by Transfermarkt. It is specified that a departure from January 2026 for Bruno Fernandes is not on the agenda, which may not be the case at the end of this 2025-26 season.

This amount will not frighten Saudi clubs, nor his enormous salary received at Manchester United (£15m gross annually according to Capology). If the trend of his sale in summer 2026 is confirmed, Bruno Fernandes' departure will mark the end of a six-and-a-half-year collaboration. With Manchester United, the Portuguese has scored 100 goals and provided 86 assists in 298 matches across all competitions, including 64 goals and 51 assists in 202 Premier League encounters.
