Manchester City will be expecting to start their FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) with no fewer than three points when they take on Moroccan outfit Wydad in Philadelphia on Wednesday evening. The Cityzens have been placed in Group G alongside Italian giants Juventus and Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates, and will be expected to qualify for the knockout stage.

Manchester City vs Wydad prediction: Plain sailing for Pep's men?
Key stats
- Three of City's last four wins have been to nil.
- Wydad have lost their previous two matches without scoring.
- Only once in each team's last five games have both teams scored.
Correct score prediction: Manchester City 5-0 Wydad
As with what happened earlier in the tournament with Bayern Munich and Auckland City, where the former won 10-0, the gulf in class between City and Wydad should be exposed here. We can see Pep Guardiola's team winning very comfortably, it is just a matter of how many goals they can score.

Veteran Moroccan winger Nordin Amrabat is in line for his debut having joined from Hull this summer. Mohamed Rayhi, who was Wydad's top league scorer last season with 11 goals, is also a player that City need to keep an eye on, and he too should play from the start.

Player to watch: Rayan Cherki
One Manchester City signing that will be aiming to make his debut is Rayan Cherki. Signed from Lyon, the Frenchman is a flair player that will help Pep Guardiola's team unlock defences and help fill at least some of the void left by Kevin De Bruyne.
Cherki sparkled on international duty recently when he scored a wonder goal for France against Spain in the UEFA Nations League (UNL) semi-final against Spain, with Les Bleus losing 5-4 in the end in what can only be described as a thriller. Nonetheless, he is a truly exciting player to watch, and could run the show for City against Wydad.
