Man Utd vs Wolves – Top Two Predictions

* Betting odds were correct at the time of publication but are subject to change.

Just one place separates Man Utd and Wolves in the Premier League table but Monday's hosts have a 6pt lead on their guests. A win would take Rangnick's side into the top six and they will fancy their chances against a Wolves side that have really struggled to score goals of late.

Man Utd to Win-to-NIl

Man Utd have won four of their last five games against Wolves in all competitions and have kept clean sheets in five of the pair's last six head-to-heads, so you can see why we've backed Man Utd to win-to-nil on Monday. Wolves have failed to score in five of their last six league games and as a result, they have only managed to win once during that period but remain a tough side to break down.

Under 2.5 Goals

We're not expecting too many goals in this game as six of the last seven encounters between these two clubs have produced under 2.5 goals. Under 2.5 goals have also been scored in four of Man Utd's last five outings as well as in each of Wolves' last six fixtures, adding further weight to our prediction for a tight and tense 90-minutes at Old Trafford. Man Utd have only scored more than one goal in two of their last six matches, while Wolves have failed to score in five of their last six league games.

Everything you need to know about Man Utd vs Wolves

United the favourites to beat goal-shy Wolves

Man Utd played host to Burnley in their final game of 2021 and managed to end the year in a positive fashion. McTominay opened the scoring in the 8th-minute and an own goal from Mee made it 2-0 to United before the half-hour mark. Ronaldo found the back of the net in the 35th-minute to send United three goals clear but Burnley did manage to muster a response before the break, Lennon scoring what turned out to be a consolation goal in the 38th-minute. The second half failed to produce any goals, not that Man Utd fans cared as their club secured a much-needed 3pts.

Man Utd Predicted Lineup: De Gea, Maguire, Shaw, Varane, Wan-Bissaka, Fernandes, McTominay, Ronaldo, Cavani, Sancho & Greenwood

Wolves were at home to Chelsea in their last league game back on the 19th of December. The game itself ended goalless and while that was a decent result for Wolves, the club's lack of goals of late is a real concern and could stop them from challenging for the European places. Wolves have only scored one goal in their last six matches, picking up a win against Brighton and two draws against Burnley and Chelsea, so you can see why they aren't expected to do much at Old Trafford on Monday.

Wolves Predicted Lineup: Sá, Marçal, Coady, Dendoncker, Kilman, Hoever, Moutinho, Saïss, Neves, Podence & Jiménez

Team News

Man Utd: Martial, Pogba, and Lindelof could miss out through injury and illness, but Fernandes returns following his one-match suspension.

Wolves: Mosquera, Jonny, Hwang, Ait Nouri, Silva, Neto and Boly could miss the trip to Old Trafford for the visitors.
