Perhaps the best goalkeeper of the Premier League era, Peter Schmeichel was such a huge presence in the Man United goal.

He won five Premier League titles and the Champions League with the Red Devils, and even scored a goal in the top flight!

RB: Gary Neville

Now a Sky Sports commentator and pundit, Gary Neville can also have an argument for being the best right-back in the Premier League era.

He was a faithful servant to the club and captain for many years, winning no fewer than Premier League 10 titles and two Champions Leagues.

RCB: Rio Ferdinand

Another former Man United player who has gone into punditry is Rio Ferdinand.

He built a shrewd partnership not just at club level but for England as well, as he won six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

LCB: Nemanja Vidic

The first player to feature in our top five for Man United’s best Premier League signings of all time, Nemanja Vidic built a fearsome centre-back partnership with Ferdinand, and was known for his no-nonsense attitude to defending.

The Serbian also won the Champions League during his time at Old Trafford, as well as five Premier League titles.

LB: Denis Irwin

Patrice Evra is very unlucky not to complete the back four here, but we have gone for Denis Irwin.

Some say he was underrated, but he undoubtedly had quality as he helped Man United win seven Premier League titles and the Champions League.

RM: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo actually enjoyed two spells at Man United, but he is undoubtedly remembered for the first.

Not only did he win so many individual awards at Old Trafford, but he also won three Premier League titles and the Champions League with the Red Devils.

RCM: Roy Keane

Now known for not mincing his words on TV, Roy Keane was an incredible midfielder and captain for Man United in his day.

It turned slightly sour between him and Sir Alex Ferguson in the end, but the Irishman won seven Premier League titles and the Champions League under perhaps the top flight's greatest-ever manager.

LCM: Paul Scholes

A partner with Keane for many years in midfield, Paul Scholes could pick a pass from anywhere on the pitch.

One of England's greatest as well, he won an eye-watering 11 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues with Man United.

LM: Ryan Giggs

Man United's record appearance-maker takes the left-midfield spot in Ryan Giggs.

His longevity in the top flight is unprecedented – not only did he win the Champions League twice, but he was also part of the squad for all 13 of Man United's Premier League titles!

RS: Eric Cantona

Man United's famous formidable strike force of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke are unlucky to miss out, but Eric Cantona had to make this XI.

The Frenchman was majestic on the pitch, as he won four Premier League titles alongside a number of individual accolades.

LS: Wayne Rooney

Last but certainly not least is Man United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney.

He is one of the best strikers England and the Premier League have ever seen, winning five top-flight titles and the Champions League with the Red Devils.
