England vs Malta Lineups and Last Match

England

England put in an excellent performance at home to Italy in their last Euro 2024 qualifier, despite going behind in the fifteenth minute. Southgate's men got back onto level terms just after the half-hour mark when Kane converted a spot-kick and the scoreline remained a 1-1 heading into the break. Rashford fired England in front in the fifty-seventh minute after good work from Bellingham who claimed an assist. Kane made sure of the points when he scored his second goal of the game, England's third, to wrap up a 3-1 victory. Bellingham won't feature for England this week due to injury and the only other player missing from the side that beat Italy last month is Stones who is also sidelined through injury.

Predicted Lineup – Pickford (GK), Walker, Trippier, Maguire, Guéhi, Phillips, Rice, Foden, Saka, Kane & Rashford

Malta

Malta got off to a flying start at home to Ukraine in last month's Euro 2024 qualifier when after just twelve minutes, Paul Mbong scored his first international goal to put the hosts in front. However, any thoughts of Malta's first points of the qualifying campaign were dampened before the break as an own goal from Camenzuli and a penalty from Dovbyk saw Ukraine lead 2-1. The visitors made sure of their victory five minutes from the end when Mudryk scored a third goal. Jodi Jones is the only Maltese player that plies his trade in England and the Notts County forward would love to get some minutes against Southgate's men this Friday.

Predicted Lineup – Bonello (GK), Borg, Pepe, Borg, Camenzuli, Guillaumier, Yankam, N. Muscat, Nwoko, J. Mbong & P. Mbong

Player to Watch: Bukayo Saka

Saka missed out on England's memorable 3-1 win over Italy last month but the Arsenal winger is back in Southgate's squad for the Malta match and we fully expect the 22-year-old to shine on Friday night.

Saka has scored eleven goals in thirty caps for his country, including four goals in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, and we're backing the England regular to put in another impressive performance this week which will likely lead to the Gunner adding more goals or assists to his tally.

Saka has scored five goals in his last eight appearances for England, including a hat trick in the 7-0 win over North Macedonia in June.
