Halmstad preview: Thrashed in last league game

The tone of their trip to Stockholm last week was set in the very first minute when Marcus Olsson scored an own goal to put Brommapojkarna in front.

Another own goal got Halmstad back onto level terms shortly before the half-hour mark but the home side scored twice before the interval to head in at the break 3-1 up.

Brommapojakarna scored a fourth goal five minutes from the end to wrap up a convincing 4-1 victory.

Predicted lineup: Erlandsson (GK), Johansson, Olsson, Wallentin, Boman, Nogueira, Eyjólfsson, Mäenpää, Ingason, Granath & Söderberg

Malmo preview: Hoping not to be affected by busy schedule

Malmo were in action in midweek at home to Greek side PAOK in the Champions League qualifiers.

The hosts took the lead twice through former Brentford defender Pontus Jansson and talented midfielder Algot Nanasi but on both occasions, PAOK carved out equalisers and the first leg ended in a 2-2 draw.

Malmo's lead at the top of the Allsvenskan table is just three points so the Swedish giants can't afford to rotate their usual starting lineup too much this weekend especially as their last league game at home to Sirius ended in a 1-0 defeat.

Predicted lineup: Dahlin (GK), Stryger Larsen, Jansson, Busanello, Zätterström, Peña, Nanasi, Berg Johnsen, Bolin, Kiese Thelin & Botheim

Player to watch – Isaac Kiese Thelin

Malmo striker Isaac Kiese Thelin has been in great form this season and currently top scores in the Allsvenskan with 12 goals.

The 32-year-old Swedish forward has been fantastic ever since he returned for his third spell with Malmo, scoring 40 league goals across two and half seasons.

Will Malmo's top goalscorer find the back of the net again this weekend?

We're backing Kiese Thelin to enjoy playing against the Halmstad defence this weekend and suspect that the striker will add to his goal tally.
