Mallorca returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Girona last weekend. They are now two points above the relegation zone with four matches left to play.
Martin Demichelis' men have been impressive at home, having earned 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four league matches at Estadi de Son Moix. However, they have lost three consecutive encounters with Villarreal and are without a win in the last five H2Hs.
Mallorca have only Mateo Joseph confirmed to be unavailable for this game, with the striker ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
The Balearic Islands outfit will also have Pablo Maffeo sidelined due to accumulated yellow cards, while there are doubts surrounding the availability of fellow defender Marash Kumbulla, who remains touch-and-go because of muscular problems.
On the other hand, Villarreal are coming off a comfortable 5-1 victory over local rivals Levante, extending their unbeaten run to four matches (W3, D1).
The visitors are third in La Liga, five points above fourth-placed Atletico Madrid at the time of publishing, with four matches remaining. They will set their sights on a top-three finish for the first time since the 2007/08 season.
On the injury front, things are not particularly bad for Villarreal. Santiago Moreno, who missed last week's victory against Levante because of a thigh problem, is back in the squad for Sunday, having shaken off his injury.
However, the Yellow Submarine cannot have Pau Cabanes available for the remaining four league games, as the youngster needs the entire month to fully recover from a cruciate ligament injury sustained last August.
