Lyon are currently enduring one their worst runs in recent memory, just weeks after winning 13 successive competitive games.

Paulo Fonseca’s men were dumped out of the Europa League 3-1 on aggregate by Celta Vigo in their last outing. Sandwiched between their two-legged loss were back-to-back low-scoring draws against Paris FC and Le Havre.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Lyon have this campaign's third-best defence, conceding only 27 in 26 games.

They were also eliminated from Coupe de France recently by title-chasing Lens. Lyon have clearly lost their scoring touch, but their defence isn’t doing well either.

Lyon will be elated with the return of Pavel Sulc, who returned from injury in midweek. He scored a brace at Stade Louis II in the reverse fixture.

In stark contrast, European hopefuls Monaco are in impeccable form having beaten Paris Saint-Germain and Lens in their last two away trips.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Monaco have scored 12 in their last five competitive games.

Aside from their elimination from the Champions League, the Monegasques have churned out results when it matters the most.

They sit just four points adrift Lyon – a win here puts them seriously in contention for a top-four finish. Monaco’s injury woes show no signs of slowing down. More than a handful of players are sidelined, including Takumi Minamino, Vanderson, Mohammed Salisu and Eric Dier.

Whispers Predicts: Lyon 1-3 Monaco

Lyon have lost their goalscoring touch, netting only twice in their previous four competitive games. Monaco have won each of their last three games via a two-goal margin, and have have scored exactly two or three goals in each of their last seven games. Monaco alone scoring Over 2.5 goals at 3/1 offers great value.

Monaco to win & BTTS – Yes a 3/1 is worth a glance, given Lyon were unbeaten for nine straight home games across all competitions until they lost in the French Cup. Furthermore, four of Monaco’s last five away matches saw both teams score.

Lyon at 1/1, and Monaco at 8/11, stands tall in Draw No Bet scenario. However, it is the latter that is the most likely outcome.

Folarin Balogun has been fiery in Monaco’s five-match unbeaten run. He has scored in all but one game in that run – PSG the only exception. Backing Balogun to score at 1.90 is a value bet.
