Champions League is still a possibility for Lille – Photo by Icon Sport

Lille are still in the hunt for a Champions League spot sitting just two points behind Brest who have been in shaky form the last few weeks. However, Lyon will be no pushovers as they have taken three points against both Monaco and Brest love the past few matchweeks.

Key stats

  • Lyon have only lost to PSG in their last eight Ligue 1 games
  • Lille have lost just one home Ligue 1 match all season
  • Les Dogues have scored in all of their home league encounters

Pre-game odds and win probability: Lille expected to maintain their strong home form

Home: 10/11 (1.91) – 52.4%

Draw: 13/5 (3.6) – 27.8%

Away: 11/4 (3.75) – 26.7%

It's a bit of a shock to see how favoured Lille are in this fixture given some of the results Lyon have managed to pull off in recent weeks. Beating Monaco and Brest – who are above Lille – is very impressive and perhaps could cause yet another shock.

We would strongly suggest checking out our free betting tips instead of touching the tricky outright winner market. However, it may be difficult to do so given the incredible value a Lyon victory does offer.

Last five H2Hs: A tight encounter could take place

Three of the last five games between Lille and Lyon have ended as a draw after 90 minutes, so there is usually nothing to separate the two of them.

Lille preview: Home form will carry them into Europe

With just one home defeat in the league all season, it's difficult to argue against Lille finishing in a European spot, and perhaps even the Champions League. This is also after a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out defeat to Aston Villa in the Europa Conference League which threatened to rock their campaign.

Predicted lineup: Chevalier (GK) – Ismaily, Alexsandro, Diakite, Santos – Gomes, Bentaleb, Cabella, Yazici, Haraldsson – David

Lyon preview: Another upset on the cards

Lyon have done very well to turn their season around to just outside the European spots following one win in the opening 14 Ligue 1 games, but they have left themselves too much to do to finish in the top five.

Lyon's Said Benrahma
Said Benrahma doubled his goal involvement tally in one game for Lyon last weekend – Photo by Icon Sport

Player to watch: Said Benrahma

A slow start to life as a Lyon player saw Said Benrahma register just one goal and assist in his first nine Ligue 1 appearances, but last week against Monaco he doubled his tally in one match so he's a man in form.

Good form to continue?

As mentioned above, the Algerian international bagged a goal and an assist in the win against Monaco as he set the tempo. It was an assist for the first goal before scoring just four minutes later to put his side in front.

This saw him create a feeling of confidence against a side much higher in the league table, but shouldn't be a surprise given he's created the third most shot-creating actions per 90 minutes in the squad.
