After finishing in the top half last season, Lorient enjoyed an impressive return to the top flight and were hoping to build on that success. However, with just five points from as many matches so far, optimism about an improved campaign has faded.

Much of Les Parisiens’ upturn in form has been due to a more compact defence, as they lead the way – alongside Olympique Lyon and Lille – with three clean sheets, while only Lyon have conceded fewer goals.
This is especially notable for a team that managed just one clean sheet in their final eight matches last season, and only eight throughout the entire 2025-26 campaign.
With five direct goal contributions to his team’s total of eight, Lassine Sinayoko has been a superb addition since joining from Auxerre and will need to maintain his form if Saturday’s visitors are to have any hope of mounting a European challenge.
