Liverpool to win (-1 handicap)

Liverpool have scored twice in four of their last five games.

Andoni Iraola's first Premier League home game in charge of Liverpool is against Nottingham Forest at Anfield at Saturday lunchtime.

The Reds rescued a late 2-2 draw at Newcastle United in their season opener last time out, and have the chance to put four points on the board from their first two matches.

Meanwhile, Forest come into this having lost back-to-back home games to Leeds United in the league and Carabao Cup respectively.

After going behind twice, Liverpool need a last-minute Dominik Szoboszlai penalty to rescue a point at Newcastle.

While it could be seen as valuable later down the season, Iraola knows deep down his team did not play well, and they look particularly vulnerable in defence.

Yet, the Reds continue to spend big on attackers with reports of a £120m deal agreed for winger Bradley Barcola, but it remains to be seen whether he will be signed in time to feature.

Federico Chiesa, Hugo Ekitike, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Joe Gomez also remain out injured.

As for Forest, Liam Delap has signed in a £50m deal from Chelsea, and could make his debut.

However, Neco Williams needs to be monitored after going off injured against Leeds in midweek, while there are also doubts over key player Morgan Gibbs-White.

Given the Tricky Trees' start to the season too, Oliver Glasner may find it difficult to get a third successive league win at Anfield for the club, something Liverpool have never suffered before.

Nonetheless, with Liverpool's shaky defence and Forest adding to their frontline, they will still feel they can cause them problems.

Whispers predicts: Liverpool 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Liverpool are 11/20 (1.55) favourites to win, but while we side with the bookies, we want to explore more ambitious bets.

Three of Liverpool's last four wins have been by a two-goal margin, so Liverpool to win (-1 handicap) at 29/20 (2.45) offers better value.

BTTS – No at 6/5 (2.20) and Under 2.5 goals at 27/20 (2.35) could also come through, as they have done in the previous three H2Hs.

Overall, we are predicting a 2-0 Liverpool victory, which can be backed at 8/1 (9.00).
