Liverpool vs Brighton: Why to back Rio Ngumoha to Assist at 7/2 in Premier League clash

Liverpool will look to win a fourth consecutive game when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.

Following their 3-0 loss against Manchester City, the Reds managed to beat LASK Linz and Villarreal in the Champions League, as well as Brentford in the top flight.

Brighton will no doubt prove to be challenging opponents, so it will be important for Andoni Iraola to not underestimate the visitors.

Though the Seagulls have won their last four league games without conceding, bet365 still view a home win favourably, pricing a Liverpool victory at 11/10 (2.1).

Failure to build on the club's winning momentum could be damaging ahead of the winter period, while three points could be crucial in the race for Champions League football, and potentially the title.

The departure of Mohamed Salah in the summer left a significant void on the right flank for the Reds, not only in terms of goals, but also assists.

Salah was one of the most creative players in the league during his time at Anfield, and though the likes of Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola have qualities of their own, neither are particularly creative.

However, teenager Rio Ngumoha has started to impact games in recent weeks from the right side of attack, and he offers a unique skillset on that flank.

The 18-year-old is an expert dribbler and has developed a strong crossing ability, so there may be value in predicting Rio Ngumoha to Assist at 7/2 (4.5).

Rio Ngumoha's assist record assessed

Ngumoha has only registered two assists for Liverpool this season, but both came on Tuesday against Villarreal in the Champions League.

Creativity is difficult to capture in stats alone, as seen by his involvement in the Reds' equaliser against Brentford last weekend, with the youngster retaining possession under pressure to help Liverpool advance up the pitch.

The winger has also been a force to be reckoned with when dribbling at opponents, and his ability to attract defenders to him may free up space for others to exploit.
