Liverpool to win-to-nil

Liverpool have won four of their last six matches across all competitions.

The Premier League leaders Liverpool have the home advantage in their FA Cup Third Round tie against League Two side Accrington Stanley, and we're bringing you our predictions for Saturday's early kick-off.

Liverpool vs Accrington Stanley prediction: Another win and clean sheet for Liverpool?

Key Stats

  • Accrington have lost three of their last six fixtures.
  • Over 4.5 goals have been scored in two of Liverpool's last five matches.
  • The hosts have scored five or more goals in two of their last five fixtures.

Correct score prediction: Liverpool 5-0 Accrington

Even if they do make a lot of changes to their starting lineup this weekend, we're still backing Liverpool to win with ease. Saturday's hosts have looked excellent going forward of late with five goals scored against West Ham and six against Tottenham in recent away games in the Premier League.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Liverpool the overwhelming favourite

  • HOME: 1/20 (1.05) – 95.2%
  • DRAW: 16/1 (17.00) – 5.9%
  • AWAY: 50/1 (51.00) – 2%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Liverpool are the expected winner of this game with a probability of 95.2% and we simply can't see Accrington pulling off any kind of upset at Anfield.

Most recent H2Hs: First meeting

Liverpool welcome Accrington Stanley to Anfield this weekend for the first-ever meeting between two clubs that sit a little over an hour's drive away from one another.

Liverpool preview: Looking to bounce back

Liverpool slipped to a rare defeat in midweek as they went down 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The defeat won't hurt Liverpool too much as it was only the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final but Arne Slott's side aren't used to losing and will be desperate to win big on Saturday.

Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai and Jarell Quansah make up the trio of players that could miss out this weekend through injury or illness.

Predicted lineup: Kelleher (GK), van Dijk, Tsimikas, Endō, Bradley, Jones, Elliott, Gravenberch, Chiesa, Jota & Gakpo

Accrington preview: Enjoy the moment

Accrington picked up an important three points away at Colchester United last time out as Stanley look to distance themselves from the relegation places.

That result put John Doolan's side into 19th place in the League Two table on 25 points with 23 games played, reducing the gap between themselves and Colchester to just two points.

We're expecting Accrington to play the same starting lineup that claimed all three points last weekend and it will be interesting to see how on-loan Everton goalkeeper Billy Crellin performs against Liverpool.

Predicted lineup: Crellin (GK), Rawson, Love, Awe, Walton, B. Woods, Khumbeni, Martin, Whalley, Hunter & J. Woods

Player to watch: Cody Gakpo

Cody Gakpo has been in good form for Liverpool of late, netting five goals in his last ten appearances across all competitions.

Gakpo has scored 12 goals in all competitions so far this season, four of which have arrived in the EFL Cup, and we're backing the Dutch international to continue his scoring run against Accrington this weekend.

Gakpo has been on a good run of form

Despite playing the majority of the game against Tottenham in midweek, we expect Gakpo to start against Accrington in what should be a heavily rotated side.
