The Argentine is one of the most complete number nines in the game, who is capable of attacking the box with precision and also dropping deep to bring his teammates into the game. With 29 goals in all competitions in his maiden season in Madrid, Alvarez has underlined he is an elite finisher.

Arne Slot has led the Reds to a league title but it's clear Mo Salah needs more support up front and Darwin Nunez isn't the man to do that. Signing a prolific and complete forward like Alvarez would be a great boost for the Merseyside outfit.
