At just 23, Barcola is already a proven winner at the highest level, and his willingness to leave a trophy-laden PSG side in search of a stage where he can become a leading figure speaks volumes about his ambition.

His versatility only strengthens the case, with the Frenchman comfortable operating from either flank and capable of leading the line when required, while the departure of Salah would offer him a clear pathway to becoming a guaranteed starter at Anfield.

Blessed with blistering acceleration, devastating one-on-one ability and the confidence to attack defenders relentlessly, Barcola possesses many of the ingredients Liverpool's frontline is currently crying out for.

The price may be eye-watering, but elite attacking talent rarely comes cheaply, and if Liverpool can negotiate PSG down from their lofty valuation, Barcola could be the statement signing that truly launches the Iraola era.
