Likely to leave Liverpool during the upcoming summer transfer window, Mohamed Salah is forcing the Merseyside club to scour the transfer market for a new right winger.

Despite signing an extension last April that ties him to the club until June 2027, Mohamed Salah could depart Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season. Less impressive and notably struggling in key fixtures such as the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt (5-1) and Sunday's Premier League clash lost to Manchester City (0-3), the Egyptian attacker is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League. A departure to Saudi Arabia or elsewhere, if confirmed, will force Arne Slot's Reds to find a worthy replacement for the former Roma forward.

Whilst two potential successors have been identified, another Premier League attacker appeals to Liverpool. According to Football Insider, the 2025 English champions are interested in signing Yankuba Minteh, the Gambian international from Brighton and Hove Albion. The Reds' interest is no coincidence as Liverpool's current manager had worked with the 21-year-old winger during his time on the touchline at Feyenoord Rotterdam, the two having collaborated during the 2023-24 season.

With one goal and three assists in 11 Premier League matches this season, the Seagulls' number 11 enjoyed an excellent campaign with Feyenoord Rotterdam under Arne Slot (10 goals and 5 assists in 27 Eredivisie matches), with Liverpool's current boss retaining fond memories of his partnership with the Bakoteh native. This could well encourage him to bring Minteh to Anfield in summer 2026.

To secure Yankuba Minteh's services, Liverpool would be prepared to pay £70m, effectively more than doubling his current market value (£30m). Under contract until June 2029 with Brighton and Hove Albion, Yankuba Minteh ranks ahead of Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah in the standings for players who have touched the ball most in the opposition box in the Premier League.
