Liverpool transfer news: Reds handed attacker boost as transfer target ‘learning English’

After appointing Andoni Iraola as Arne Slot's successor following a disappointing 2025-26 campaign, Liverpool have quickly stepped up their activity in the summer transfer market as preparations for a new era at Anfield gather pace.

Liverpool transfer news: Reds receive Maghnes Akliouche boost

Maghnes Akliouche could be edging closer to a move to Anfield, with Sky Sports News reporting that the Monaco winger is learning English and is open to a switch to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old, who featured briefly for France at the 2026 World Cup, has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but Liverpool are understood to have already made an enquiry over his availability.

Liverpool are believed to have opened discussions with Monaco earlier this summer as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Replacing Mohamed Salah is one of Iraola's biggest priorities, with Akliouche joined on the club's reported shortlist by Bradley Barcola, Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Said El Mala.

The Reds are also wary of renewed competition from PSG after Luis Enrique's side appear to have beaten them to the signing of RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande.

Liverpool were reportedly prepared to spend around £86 million on Diomande, suggesting they have the financial flexibility to pursue another major attacking target if required.
