Liverpool, who have already signed Jeremy Jacquet for the next summer transfer window, are reportedly ready to sign another Ligue 1 centre-back.
Could Liverpool have an all-Ligue 1 central defence? This winter, the Reds made a big investment in Jeremy Jacquet. Indeed, the English giants completed the signing of the young French centre-back for £55m. The 20-year-old will finish the season at Rennes before joining the 6th-placed Premier League side next summer.
Liverpool want to sign Charlie Cresswell in the next window
Liverpool do not appear to be done with their recruitment in central defence. Indeed, according to SportsBoom, the Reds are still pursuing Charlie Cresswell. The Toulouse Englishman has been linked with the Premier League giants for many months.

The 23-year-old attracted interest from other clubs during the last transfer window, but TFC rejected approaches of up to £21m (€25m) for their protege and set a hefty asking price – over £25.5m (€30m) – to part with their defensive stalwart. That sum did not arrive this winter, so the former Leeds man will finish the season in France, but a departure seems likely next summer.
Offer of over £25m expected
Indeed, Charlie Cresswell has established himself as an undisputed starter at Toulouse with 21 starts in 21 Ligue 1 matches this season. He is even considered one of the best in Ligue 1 in his position. Les Violets will therefore not be able to keep him for long, especially as Liverpool are reportedly preparing their move.
According to the British outlet, the Toulouse man is indeed a Reds target, with the club expected to submit an offer exceeding £25.4m (€30m) next summer to sign him. A sum that matches the French club's demands and should be enough to convince them. The English club could therefore beat significant competition in this race from Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham. However, Cresswell's stance on Liverpool's interest remains to be seen.
