Lithuania will travel to Liechtenstein on Thursday to kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign in League D after relegation last time around.
The nations will meet for the first time in over 13 years at the beginning of the new term in group D2 before both take on Azerbaijan later in the international break.

Liechtenstein will go in search of a first Nations League victory in over six years on Thursday when they begin their 2026-27 campaign.
They spent 2024-25 in Group D1 and managed just two points from four matches, drawing twice with Gibraltar and losing twice to San Marino, with the last two results coming in a 13-game winless streak which also spanned a World Cup qualifying bid in which they lost all eight games.
That rut finally came to an end in March, when the Blau-Rot beat Tanzania 1-0, but they have gone on to suffer three further defeats since firstly falling to Aruba before a pair of 2-0 losses against Andorra and Cyprus in June.
A notable absence in their squad heading into the new Nations League is 79-capped Sandro Wolfinger, who retired after those June matches, but Konrad Funfstuck still has an experienced squad led by the likes of captain Nicolas Hasler, Aron Sele and attacker Dennis Salanovic.
Now aiming to end their long wait for a competitive victory, they meet a Lithuania team who they last took on in 2013 in which they suffered a second straight H2H defeat.
The visitors are beginning life in League D after relegation last time out with the hopes of topping their group, albeit preparing to return to League C in 2029 regardless with the bottom tier set to be removed.
They failed to put a point on the board in six group matches against Romania, Kosovo and Cyprus, scoring just four goals and conceding 11 in those games before also going winless and collecting three points in eight group outings.
Edgaras Jankauskas's side have managed two wins in four matches since, though, beating Moldova and losing to Georgia in March friendlies before getting past Latvia in the Baltic Cup with a 1-1 draw and penalty shootout triumph and falling short to Estonia in the final in June.
The Rinktine now return to competitive action with fixtures against Liechtenstein and Azerbaijan looking to put six points on the board before a friendly and put themselves top of the group, with Arvydas Novikovas, who has 97 caps and 12 international goals notaly absent from the squad while 23-year-old attacker Armandas Kucys may become a key man alongside Torino's Gvidas Gineitis.

Whispers predicts: Liechtenstein 0-2 Lithuania
While Liechtenstein have conceded two or more goals in 14 of their last 16 games, they do not come up against a high-scoring nation, with the visitors having scored just three goals in their last seven outings. We do not see either team running riot and fancy under 2.5 goals at 7/10 (1.70).
Lithuania, however, do bast the better quality throughout their ranks and will fancy themselves to kick off in League D with an away victory against a team winless in the Nations League since 2020. They are priced up to win the game at 1/3 (1.33).
Lithuania's midfielder Gvidas Gineitis is arguably the standout player ahead of the game, having made 63 Serie A appearances for Torino since the start of 2024-25 and scored five times in his last 16 international caps. With many of those games coming against tougher opposition in World Cup qualifying, he should fancy his opportunity to shine in their League D opener and is priced at 15/8 (2.88) to score anytime.
