Levante vs Villarreal predictions: Goals expected

Key stats

  • At least three goals were scored in five of Villarreal's last six matches.
  • Levante are on a three-game winless run.
  • Villarreal managed one win in their last seven matches across all competitions.

Correct score prediction: Levante 2-2 Villarreal

Despite being the clear favourites, Villarreal's recent run of results does not inspire much confidence, as they have suffered five defeats in their last seven games, winning only once in that stretch.

Like their opponents, Levante are going through a rough patch, having lost back-to-back games with no wins in their last three matches.

It is also worth mentioning that this is a regional derby, with both teams based in the Valencian Community.

Keeping in mind that three of Levante's last five home games ended in stalemates, we believe the spoils will be shared after 90 minutes.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Villarreal priced as favourites

  • HOME: 3/1 (4.00) – 25%
  • DRAW: 29/10 (3.90) – 25.6%
  • AWAY: 5/6 (1.83) – 54.5%

*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

Levante have been the worst home team in La Liga this season, having won only one of their 11 league matches at this stadium. They are coming off a 2-0 defeat against Valencia and have no wins in their last three games.

On the other hand, Villarreal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Getafe in their last outing. Marcelino's troops are now without a win in four consecutive away matches (D1, L3).

Ahead of this skirmish, Villarreal and Levante are third and 19th in the Spanish top flight, respectively.

Bearing that in mind, Villarreal are the expected winners at 5/6 (1.83). Teams with these odds generally have a 54.5% probability of winning.

Also, keeping in mind that five of Villarreal's last six matches went above the 2.5-goal threshold, over 2.5 total goals has an appealing look at 3/4 (1.75). That one has a 57.1% chance of landing.

Most recent H2Hs: First encounter in over three years

This fixture was initially scheduled for last December but was postponed due to extreme weather conditions in the Valencia region.

Interestingly, this is the first competitive encounter between these teams since April 2022. This is unsurprising because Levante were absent from the Spanish top flight for the last three seasons.

Levante preview: Looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat

Levante have a further shortage of players in midfield, with Pablo Martinez picking up a new injury in the recent defeat to Valencia. This means the 27-year-old captain will be unavailable for this rescheduled Round 16 La Liga game alongside injured midfielders Roger Brugue (LCL) and Ugo Raghouber (muscle).

Kervin Arriaga, who partnered Martinez in a double pivot last time out, received a late second yellow card, ruling him out of this match due to suspension, but the hosts will have Jeremy Toljan and Alan Matturro back this weekend, as both players already served their one-game suspension.

Predicted lineup: Ryan (GK), Adri, Elguezabal, Moreno, Sanchez, Rey, Vencedor, Losada, Alvarez, Romero & Eyong

Last five matches

  • 15/02/26: Levante 0-2 Valencia (La Liga)
  • 08/02/26: Athletic Bilbao 4-2 Levante (La Liga)
  • 31/01/26: Levante 0-0 Atletico Madrid (La Liga)
  • 23/01/26: Levante 3-2 Elche (La Liga)
  • 17/01/26: Real Madrid 2-0 Levante (La Liga)

Villarreal preview: No Moleiro, no problem?

As for Villarreal, Pau Cabanes (ACL), Logan Costa (ACL), and top scorer Alberto Moleiro (illness) are definitely ruled out of this trip.

Juan Foyth, who ruptured his Achilles tendon last month, will no longer play a part this season for the Yellow Submarine, while Thomas Partey's off-field troubles mean the Ghanaian is unavailable for this game as well.

The trio of Willy Kambwala, Alfon Gonzalez, and Gerard Moreno could all be available this midweek after good progress in their recovery routines.

Predicted lineup: Junior (GK), Mourino, Navarro, Veiga, Cardona, Buchanan, Gueye, Parejo, Perez, Pepe & Mikautadze

Last five matches

  • 14/02/26: Getafe 2-1 Villarreal (La Liga)
  • 09/02/26: Villarreal 4-1 Espanyol (La Liga)
  • 31/01/26: Osasuna 2-2 Villarreal (La Liga)
  • 28/01/26: Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 Villarreal (UEFA Champions League)
  • 24/01/26: Villarreal 0-2 Real Madrid (La Liga)

Player to watch: Nicolas Pepe

In the absence of top scorers Alberto Moleiro and Gerard Moreno, Villarreal will look to Nicolas Pepe to provide goals. The former Arsenal forward has two goal contributions in his last three appearances and will fancy his chances against La Liga's worst defence.
