Levante vs Alaves predictions: Low-scoring affair

Key stats

  • Fewer than three goals were scored in four of Levante's last five clashes with Alaves.
  • Levante have lost four games in a row.
  • Alaves are currently on a four-match winless streak.

Correct score prediction: Levante 0-0 Alaves

To be fair, Levante are currently on a four-game losing streak and a five-match winless run. However, Alaves have not fared much better than their hosts, having failed to win any of their last four games.

Interestingly, the spoils were shared in Alaves' last two matches, and considering that two of the last three encounters between these teams were goalless at the end of regulation time, we believe that these sides will be level after 90 minutes.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Levante slightly favoured

  • HOME: 8/5 (2.60) – 38.5%
  • DRAW: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.2%
  • AWAY: 7/4 (2.75) – 36.4%

Levante's woes continued with a 3-0 defeat at Barcelona last weekend. They have now lost four in a row and have failed to score in their last three games.

Alaves, on the other hand, required a late goal to secure a point against Girona last time out. Eduardo Coudet's men are coming off back-to-back draws and are without a win in four matches across two competitions.

Ahead of this skirmish, Alaves and Levante are 14th and 19th in La Liga, respectively.

Despite their losing streak, Levante are the expected winners at 8/5 (2.60). Teams with these odds generally have a 38.5% probability of winning.

It is also worth mentioning that Alaves average 5.0 corners per game in La Liga this season, notably higher than Levante's average of 3.5.

With that in mind, Alaves -0.5 corner handicap has an appealing look at 6/5 (2.20). That one has a 45.5% chance of landing.

Most recent H2Hs: Alaves to complete the sweep?

Levante suffered a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture last August. However, they have lost only one of the last six clashes between these teams in regulation time (W3, D2).

Levante preview: Hoping to halt their losing streak

Key midfielders remain unavailable for Levante ahead of Friday's encounter due to injury, including Pablo Martinez, who is ruled out because of a medial collateral ligament tear (MCL), and Roger Brugue, who is sidelined due to a lateral collateral ligament tear (LCL).

Unai Elguezabal is doubtful for this game as the defender's knee injury is still a cause for concern. Ivan Romero has an eye issue which could keep him out of this clash, but there is no uncertainty concerning Kervin Arriaga, who will serve a one-game suspension.

Predicted lineup: Ryan (GK), Perez, Adri, Moreno, Sanchez, Raghouber, Vencedor, Losada, Alvarez, Tunde & Eyong.

Predicted lineup: Sivera (GK), Parada, Pacheco, Garces, Tenaglia, Alena, Blanco, Ibanez, Calebe, Suarez & Boye.

Lucas Boye put in a man-of-the-match performance last weekend, scoring a brace in Alaves' 2-2 draw with Girona. The former Celta Vigo forward has four goal contributions in his last five La Liga outings and will fancy his chances against Levante.
